Tree Offsets (Carbon sequestration)

• We ensure that all our trees conform to standards of additionality. This means that trees are planted freshly with each purchase and are not already in the ground. Every carbon offset contributes to trees that would not otherwise be there.
• All the trees planted are indigenous and chosen to support local flaura and fauna in regions that are in need of regeneration. All offsets therefore have an additional ecological benefit.
• The land that planting occurs on is owned by us (or co2balance) and therefore guarantees that the trees will not be cut down.
• Planted woodlands are actively mantained, and trees that die within the first five years (the period in which they are most vulnerable) are replaced with new ones.
• We are working towards accreditation under ‘Woodmark’. This is a program that ensures sustainable afforestation and woodland management.
